NaNo Check-in #6

Progress (word count or a general status update): 32,214

Mood: Still feeling good. I got a little stressed because I missed a few days, but the over-writing I've done (based on my word count spreadsheet) tells me I'm ahead of the game. Phew!

Inspiration: "All you have to do is write one true sentence. Write the truest sentence that you know." Ernest Hemingway

Goals as of today: My husband is working this Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. I am off. I'm hoping to knock out a LOT of words.

Recent Favorite NaNo-WIP Line:
All Danny remembered was the star power filling her, the fire coursing through her until she thought she would explode. Then the fires had gone out, and Danny went out with them.

Non-NaNo News: I have a vacation coming up in less than two weeks, and I cannot wait. I'm counting down the days. I'll be sure to share lots of fun Disney and Universal photos. :)

Something Shiny (posts of fun things, other friends blog posts, etc.): Today's something shiny is a question. How are you doing with NaNoWriMo? This is my first year, and I'm loving it. Sure, it's been hard, but pounding out a first draft on a deadline fits so well with my writing style. Is this your first time? Are you still going strong? Or have you instead found that this just isn't right for you? I think all of that's okay, but I'd love to know where you are!

  2. As always, love your WiP bit. So brief, but super impactful! I'm cruising along with my NaNo. Like you, this kind of drafting fits my writing style. I do better when I'm deep in the story for a short time, rather than randomly typing a few hundred words over the course of the year.

Yay to go, Liz... We're *almost* there!

  3. Wow, with the rate you've been going on NaNo you're going to need a vacation! Great excerpt from your WIP yet again. Good luck with writing this week!

  4. This is my second time around, first was 2010 and I skipped last year. I've studied writing--books, conferences, etc. since the last Nano which helps. I love having daily goals. Even though I don't write every day, I plan my writing time to keep up, which is a great discipline.
