What's Up Wednesday

Another Wednesday, another update! “What’s Up Wednesday” is a weekly blog hop by Jaime Morrow and Erin Funk. From Jaime: It’s similar in some respects to the Currently… post, but it’s been whittled down to only four headings to make it quicker and more manageable on a weekly basis.

What I'm Reading: Still working my way through Think Like a Rock Star, and still loving it. I'm trying to decide if I'll be able to pick up anything else before Siege and Storm is released (eeeee!). Probably will. We'll see.

What I'm Writing: Still where I was on this last week. I'm hoping that I'll finally have some time to write either Sunday or Monday.

What Else I've Been Up To: I'm in the throes of being a new homeowner and there is so much going on. We've been getting the electrical updated, which has taken longer than expected. I'll be over at the house tonight or tomorrow cleaning and polishing the floors. Then, we move in on Saturday! I'm ready to get in and get settled.

What have you been up to lately?

  1. So excited for you about the new house! I hope your move goes smoothly so you can get settled in. And hopefully Frankie likes his new digs. :-)

I keep forgetting that Siege and Storm is out soon. Can't wait!

  2. Oh the ups and downs of being a new home owner! I moved three times in the course of a summer one year, and while exciting, I don't hope to do that anytime soon. Good luck! And enjoy all the exciting NEW parts!

  4. Having a new place and moving are ENORMOUS tasks. No wonder that's what you're focusing on right now. Soon you'll be all ensconced in a new place and the regular life can start again. :0)

  6. The work it takes to get it move-in ready doesn't sound fun, but I'm sure you're going to forget about it your first night when you're in YOUR HOUSE. Then, at least from my point of view, the fun starts: decorating it. :)

    1. Yes yes yes! And decorating--yes. I've been pinning ideas for our home office (hubs and I are both desk people with PC's because we're gamers) and can't wait to get that room started.

  7. Congrats, homeowner! I have been going through the same the past couple of months--it's super exciting, but is there ever a lot to do! And our "quick update to the wiring" ended up being "totally redo all the wiring and BTW we are going to chop up all your walls to do it." Needless to say . . . longer than expected. :)
Have fun getting settled in your new place!

    1. Um yes--that wiring thing, us, too. Though there hasn't been as much chopping as I expected, it's definitely taken much longer! They're supposed to be done today...crossing my fingers!

      Thanks :)

  9. Yay for a new house! Good luck with your move! It's lots of work but so worth it to have a space that's all your own that you can decorate and fix up however you want!

  10. One good thing about renting is my property manager will take care of all of those things for me before I move in ;) Congrats on your new house!
