Writer Recharge Update #1

Writer Recharge is a month-long motivational challenge to get you through the dreary February days with a little (or a lot!) of progress on your current WIP. First, let me say how excited I am to see so many people participating! Sorry I wasn't very active last week. I was at a trade show for work, and by the time I got back, I was wiped out. But no fear! I'm here now, and I'll try to make the rounds tonight.

Despite all that, I still made some progress on my goals. I did an initial edit on my query letter and tinkered some with my synopsis. Big goal for this week is to do that read-through I mentioned. So here are my goals as they stand:
  • Revise my query letter.
  • Read through my post-beta-edits draft.
  • Make any necessary changes.
  • Revise my synopsis.
  • Revise my query letter again.
  • And if all that gets done...
  • Query!
  • And start outlining book two, because Lord knows it's going to take some time.

How did you do on your goals for the week?

  1. Yanno, query and synopsis writing are so different from regular writing that it's probably not a bad thing you didn't have as much time as you wanted last week. I feel like they need more time to stew, and that your own fresh eyes on them even a few days later really help. Still, congratulations on getting through your query letter revisions, and best of luck this week!

  2. I totally feel like a broken record every time I comment about your story, but YAY! I can't wait to see what comes of your querying, Liz. I have all the faith in STARS AND STRIPES!

  3. Oh, that dreaded query letter - SO glad you were able to make progress on it! Go you! Hope you have another great week!

  4. Ugh, query letters are the devil. But I wish you nothing but the best of luck!

  5. great job getting that query revised. I hate those things. A necessary evil, in my opinion. Good luck with the rest of your goals!
