RSW Update #7

Ready. Set. WRITE! is a summer writing intensive--hosted by Katy UppermanAlison MillerJaime Morrow, and Erin Funk--that encourages goal-setting and accountability, and provides an opportunity for us to cheer each other on wherever we’re at in our writing—planning, drafting, revising, or polishing.

1. How I did on last week’s goals
Awful. I got in about 900 words.

2. My goals for this week
I'd like to reach 30k, which means a little over 7,500 words.

3. A favorite line from my story
A little more from last week's scene.

I looked at her fingers, which were beginning to waver between bone and skin then back up to her eyes. The pupils had taken over and soon they’d be all back.
“I’ll go with you, but you have to keep your skin on,” I whispered.
I really was losing my mind.

4. The biggest challenge I faced this week
I wrapped up a scene, got stuck, and then had a lot on my plate outside of writing.

5. Something I love about my WIP
Ice cream.

  1. "You have to keep your skin on." <-- Pretty much the most chilling line ever. Love it! Best of luck with your 7500 goal. I'll be around in the evenings if you need a buddy!

  3. That "you have to keep your skin on" line is pretty great. Eek! (It kind of makes me think of that expression "Keep your shirt on!") I'm finding it tougher and tougher to squeeze in writing, so I can relate when it comes to wishing you'd gotten more done. All the luck hitting that 30K mark this week, Liz! :-)

  5. Ooh, mysterious extract. :) Keep persevering - you can do it! And sometimes writing doesn't come on certain weeks.

  6. You and I have similar goals this week! When do you usually write? We should keep each other motivated because we can totally do this. :)

Also, I am still so intrigued by your story! Keep going! You can do it!
