Writer Recharge: Check-in!

Writer Recharge is once again hosted by Katy UppermanAlison MillerElodie NowodazkijSara Biren, and myself! This is your chance for a four-week jump start in the middle of a cold, dreary winter. Set goals for yourself, check in once a week, and connect with other recharging writers.

Well, we've made it to the second week of February, which means the first Writer Recharge check-in. Before I even go into my goals, let me start by saying that last week made any writing very difficult. Work has been pretty rough, and then my husband and I celebrated the 10th anniversary of our first date. So that was great! (but also resulted in a killer hangover on Saturday)

Onto the goals...

Write/Revise: I'd like to make it halfway through this ghost story I keep talking about. 
Update: Not anywhere close. I tinkered with the first three chapters, but I did manage to fix a big problem I was having with one of my main characters. 

Read/Reread: If I Stay.  & Vivian Apple at the End of the World this month.
Finished If I Stay! So that's pretty good.

Stretch: I have a goal in mind for this that I can't share right now, but know I'm working toward it!
I did put some work to this goal this week.

Self:  I want to do yoga 4 out of 5 weekdays 
Managed 3 weekdays of yoga.

Connect: I'll be reading chapters for a writing friend who's getting ready for submission. I'm so excited for her (but not sure she wants me to share no names).
In progress!

Fun: I want to get at least one pedicure this month. This sort of fits the self goal, too, but still.

Now if I can just get some of my writing goals done :)

  1. Yay for rocking your yoga goal! And Nosey Katy is super curious about your stretch goal -- best of luck whatever it is! It just so happens that I've written a manuscript with a ghost in it, so if you ever want to brainstorm or shoot ideas around, feel free to email. I can't guarantee that I'll be any help, but I'll certainly try. :-) Best of luck with your goals this week, lady!

  3. I would love to take up yoga, but I'm worried I'll do it wrong and injure myself. 0_o Mostly I just want to like doing something active. Good for you for tackling that this week. Like Katy, I'm a total Nosy Jaime about your stretch goal. Ha! Hope that's going well, whatever it is! Have a great week, Liz! :D

  5. Happy anniversary of your first date! My hubby and I celebrated our "day we met" last month. Nineteen years - gah we're old! Although we were teens, so that makes us slightly less old ;)
